We here at Rising Van Lines pride ourselves in disclosing all of the costs that can accrue during a move- NO HIDDEN COSTS.  Please call us if you have any questions about the charges listed below.

Stair carries are subject to an additional charge of $1.00 per 100 lbs., or a fraction thereof, after the first flight (6 stairs) for each additional flight of stairs.

Long carries in excess of 75 feet are subject to an additional charge of $1.00 per 100 lbs., or a fraction thereof for each additional 75 feet or fraction thereof, subject to a maximum charge of $75.00.

Elevator service is subject to an additional charge of $1.00 per 100 lbs., or fraction thereof, subject to a maximum charge of $75.00 per elevator.

Waiting time is subject to an additional charge of $95.00 per hour, or fraction thereof, subject to a maximum charge of $750.00 per day.

Guaranteed delivery dates are subject to an additional charge of $495.00.

Shuttle service will be provided at the following charges:

Storage in transit at carrier’s facility is subject to a charge of:

Winter Rates (Sept. 22- June 20): 

          $0.35 per cubic feet or $.05 per lb.

Summer Rates (June 21 - Sept. 21):

          $0.45 per cubit feet or $.06 per lb

of shipper’s load after 30 days of free storage.  Storage fees are not provided on a prorated basis.

After 21 business days from the date indicated by the shipper as the first available date for delivery, the shipper will be credited $15.00 per day the load is delayed regardless of the expense you actually might have incurred as a result of the mover’s failure to perform.  (Not valid for dates that fall on holidays or when delivery falls under the article of the U.S. Department of Transportation guidelines and given their directive, we cannot and do not assume any liability for delay caused by mechanical failure).  A mover is only required to pick up and deliver your property with reasonable dispatch and in a reasonable time.  Rising Van Lines will do its best to meet any requested pickup or delivery dates. 

The deposit is non-refundable when a moving truck arrives at the pick-up location and customer refuses service without prior 72-hours cancellation notice. 

The deposit and payment required at the time of pick-up are to be paid in cash, personal check, postal money order, credit card (VISA, M/C, Discover) or certified check unless other payment arrangements have been made between shipper and carrier.   Upon pickup 70% of the balance is due and payable to Rising Van Lines.  If for any reason this percentage of the payment does not clear, the shipper will be charged applicable bank fees and  it may delay the delivery of shipper’s items due to breach of contract.  Said payment must be made prior to shipper’s items being put on schedule for delivery. 

Upon delivery, the remaining balance, including any charges for additional services provided at time of delivery, must be paid for in the form of a postal money order, cashier’s check, or cash before property is unloaded by carrier.  Customer agrees if charges are not paid in full prior to unloading of truck, shipment will go into a local storage facility.  Shipper will be billed for any and all storage fees and will also be charged a redelivery fee.  If said items are not claimed within 30 days, it will go to public auction.
